A dedicated teacher with 15 years of experience in public school education, I understand the vital role strong public schools play. Our schools can serve as the engine of excellence, driving students and their families towards achieving the American Dream.
However, this can only be realized when we remove politics from educational decisions, embrace the value of every student, and commit to providing a comprehensive educational experience that ensures all children have access to opportunities.
State Board of Education:
- sets standards for the state (TEKS)
- adopts curriculum for the state
- oversees Texas Permanent Fund
- approves rules for Teacher certification
- establishes graduation requirements

- real experts making decisions, not the Heritage Foundation
- rigorous, differentiated and non-religious textbooks and materials
- public school funding for public school students
- high quality teachers
- a reevaluation of End of Course exams for graduation
